Expressions of trefoil factor 2 and cyclooxygenase-2 in gastric cancer
摘要
Abstract
Objective To investigate the expressions of trefoil factor 2 (TFF2) and cyrlooxygenase-2 (COX-2) in normal gastric mucosal tissues , paracancerous tissues, and gastric carcinoma tissues and to explore the association of TFF2 with carcinogenesis. Methods Expressions of TFF2 and COX-2 were determined by immunohistochemical assay in 30 specimens of normal gastric mucosal tissues , 50 paracarc:ancerous tissues, and 50 carcinoma tissues. Results The expression level of TFF2 had a decreasing tendency in the normal tissues ,paracancerous tissues, and cancerous tissues (165.80 ± 16.42, 184.44 ± 19.02, and 206.79 ± 17.62; P ＜0.01) ; but the expression level of COX-2 expression had an increasing trend (217.50 ± 12.60, 203.08 ± 17.68,and 193.50 ± 16.160; P ＜ 0.01). The expression of TFF2 was negatively related with that of COX-2 (r =-0.761 , P ＜ 0.01). Conclusions An increase in COX-2 expression inhibits the expression of TFF2 , resulting in an imbalance between cell proliferation and apoptosis and finally in carcinogenesis.关键词
