Integrated Ship Resistence/Seakeeping Optimization Based on Parametric CAD Model

Abstract
The hull forms of ship both with optimal resistance and seakeeping performances are required to create quickly in the conceptual design phase. Parametric ship hulls were achieved automatically with a blending method according to the baseline ship design. Based on that, the resistance and seakeeping performance integrated optimization was implemented with multidisciplinary design optimization method,combining parametric ship hull blending method and the resistance and seakeeping performance procedures through iSight optimization software. A multi-criterion, population-based evolutionary algorithm optimization process was used to provide a more thorough representation of the numerically approximated Pareto front. The resistance and seakeeping integrated optimization of 46 000 DWT oil tanker was presented as an example to illustrate the process. Model test results show that total resistance reduction is up to 3%. The feasibility of this integrated optimization method was also validated.关键词
