Abstract
Objective To investigate in vitro antibacterial effects of alliin, alliinase and alliin + alliinase against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).Methods Broth dilution and agar count methods were used to determine in vitro antibacterial effects of alliin, alliinase and alliin + alliinase against 10 clinically isolated MRSA strains.Time killing curves were drawn.Results Alliin and alliin+ alliinase showed antimicrobial activities against MRSA, but alliinase could not inhibit their growth.Conclusion Both alliin and alliin + alliinase are antimicrobial drugs sensitive to MRSA and thus have the prospect of treating infectious diseases caused by MRSA.关键词
