Abstract
Objective:To investigate plasma levels of lipids in patients with gout, then explore the mechanisms about alterations in lipids levels and high risk for cardiovascular diseases in patients with gout. Methods: A total of 41 male patients with gout (gout group; 28 in acute episode phase group; 13 in intermittent phase group) and 40 healthy controls (control group) were enrolled in this study. Levels of total cholestrol (TC), triglyceride (TG), high density lipoprotein cholestrol (HDL-C),low density lipoprotein cholestrol (LDL-C), apolipoprotein A (apoA), apolipoprotein B (apoB), lipoprotein (a) [ Lp(a) ], Oxidized low density lipoprotein (ox-LDL) and high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) were measured in both groups, the relationships between hs-CRP and lipids level were also explored. Results:The plasma levels of TC, LDL-C, apo-B, Lp(a) and ox-LDL in patients group were significantly higher than control group (all P＜0. 05); The levels of hs-CRP in acute episode phase gout were significantly higher than control group (P＜0. 01); In contrast, the levels of HDL-C in acute episode phase group was significant lower than control group and intermittent phase group (both P＜0. 05); Correlation analysis indicated that HDL-C was negatively correlated with hs-CRP activities in acute episode phase group (r= -0. 452, P＜0. 05). Conclusions:Plasma atherogenie lipid profile is changed in patients with gout. The alterations of plasma lipids may be associated with inflammation and oxidative stress in acute episode phase gout.关键词
