Abstract
Objective The purpose of this study was to evaluate the jawbone changes in patients treated with extraction of 2 maxillary frist premolars and 2 mandibular second premolars combined with class Ⅱ intermaxillary elastics.Methods The sample included 62 patients (male 21,female 41),the mean age is 17.5±4.6 years. All the patients were treated with extraction of 2 maxillary frist premolars and 2 mandibular second premolars combined with class Ⅱ intermaxillary elastics. Lateral cephalometric radiographs were taken at pretreatment and posttreatment,T tests were used to compare the sagittal and vertical changes between maxillary and mandibular. Results Analysis of the date showed statistically significant increases of anterior,posterior face heights and the mandibular plane angle (P＜0.05) ,but no significant changes were observed for rate of the face height (P＞0.05). Conclusion The treatment may bring a light downward rotation of the mandibular plane ,but it does not cause an unfavourable effect on rate of the face height.关键词
