Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To investigate the economic results of escitalopram and venlafaxine in the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD). METHODS: 89 MDD outpatients treated with venlafaxine or escitalopram from our hospital during Sept.2007 to Sept. 2009 were analyzed retrospectively. The cost-minimization analysis was performed using the theory of pharmacoeconomics. RESULTS: The effective rate of venlafaxine group and escitalopram group were 90.7％ and 100.0％ (P＞0.05). The cost of venlafaxine group and escitalopram group were 912.53 yuan and 1 510.86 yuan (P＜0.05). CONCLUSION: Venlafaxine is more economical and effective therapeutic regimen than escitalopram in the treatment of MDD.关键词
