Abstract
Objective To understand the prevalence of cervical diseases in Yuetan community in Beijing, with an attempt to provide evidences for community — based prevention of cervical cancer. Methods Conventional cervical scraping smear screening was performed in 3850 women who attended the " Two Cancers Screening" project in Yuetan community from 2008 to 2009. Results In Yuetan community, 3850 women received screening, with an screening rate of 9. 9％ and a government budget of 96250 RMB yuan. Abnormal pelvic conditions were found in 1209 women ( 31. 4％ ). Of 165 women ( 4. 3％ ) with abnormal cervical cytology, 23 ( 0. 6％ ) had cervical lesions, including one case of cervical cancer. Conclusion The screening rate is low in Yuetan community in Beijing. The prevalence of cervical lesions is 0. 6％ . Health education should be strengthened in rural communities in Beijing so as to urge more women to accept cervix screening.关键词
