Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship between the expression of tissue inhibitor metalloproteinase-2 (TIMP-2)and vascular endothelial growth factor( VEGF )in epithelial ovarian carcinoma( EOC )tissue and the prognosis of patients with EOC. Methods The expressions of TIMP-2 and VEGF in normal ovary tissues ( n=10),benign epithelial ovarian tumor(EOT) ( n = 20 ) and EOC ( n = 50) were detected by the immunohistochemistry method. The expression of TIMP-2 and VEGF and the ratio of VEGF/TIMP-2 were analyzed between patients with and without postoperative recurrence,3-5 year follow-up after operation. Results The positive rates of TIMP-2 and VEGF were higher in EOC tissues than those in benign EOT tissues and normal ovaries tissues( P ＜ 0.05 ). The positive rate of TIMP-2 and VEGF were higher in patients with postoperative recurrence than those in patients without postoperative recurrence ,while the incidence of VEGF/TIMP-2 ratio ≥2 was significant lower than that in patients without postoperative recurrence( P＜0.05 ). Conclusion TIMP-2 and VEGF have high expression levels in EOC tissues, and their expression and the ratio of VEGF/TIMP-2 is closely related to the prognosis of patients with EOC.关键词
