Chemical Modification and Hydrophilicity Improvement for Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) Membrane

Abstract
In the paper,optimization of the condition of the chemical modification of the polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membrane at different concentrantions of alkaline solution,duration of the reaction times, and temperatures of the reaction system and evaluation of the effect of changing condition to the hydrophilicity, molecular structure, components and crystalline form of the membrane by raman spectroscopy, FT-IR a spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry and determination of contact angles were introduced. The results show that after 8 h dehydroflouridation under 60 ℃ in alkaline solution of 6 mol/L, the hydrophilicity of the modified membrane is enhanced as the hydroxyl group introduced to the PVDF membrane chemical structure, however, the mechanical strength is decreased.关键词
