摘要

Abstract

Purpose To investigate the role of Epstein-Bar virus( EBV ) and human cytomegalovirus( HCMV ) infection in human renal diseases. Methods 435 cases of renal biopsies with complete clinical data were recruited. The expressions of LMPI and CMVpp65 were detected by immunohistochemical staining. Results ( 1 ) LMPI was identified in 175 cases out of all 435 cases. while CMVpp65 was identified in 170 cases, and the expression positive rate of EBV LMPI in LN group and IgAN group were significant higher thanthat in PGN group( P > 0. 01 ), no-immune renal disease group( P < 0. 05 ), the expression positive rate of CMVpp65 in LN group were significant higher than that in PGN group and no-immune renal disease group ( P <0. 05 ). ( 2 ) EBV LMPI and CMVpp65 expression rate were statistical different between immunodepressants using or no in PGN subset. but not in other subsets. ( 3 ) There were not statistically different of EBV LMPI and CMVpp65 expression rate between infection patients or no infection patients. ( 4 ) The positive rate of anti-Sm-Ab in patients with LN was much higher in renal EBV infection group than in non-infection group( P< 0. 05 . OR = 6. 00,95% CI: 1. 200 ~ 29. 998 ), while it was lower in CMV infection group( P<0. 01, OR =0. 156, 95% CI: 0. 038 ~ 0. 643 ). Conclutions Renal EBV and CMV infection may participate in the pathogenesis of LN and IgAN. And renal EBV infection may induce LN via the mechanism of molecular mimicry.
