Cloud tri-spectral analysis of two snowstorms in Xinjiang region using MODIS data
摘要
Abstract
For monitoring cloud of the snowstorm, two snowstorm processes, one of which happened in Hami on November 18-20, 2005 and another in Kuche on November 22-24, 2006, were analyzed using EOS/MODIS satellite data. The results indicate the spectral characteristics of the snow, the clear sky and the thin cirrus. Visible and near infrared channel data are used to eliminate the irrelevant information to the major cloud region. The relationship between the brightness temperature of the 29, 31,32 channeis and the cloud phase as well as the relationship between the cloud top properties and the snowfall intensity are found.关键词
