摘要

Abstract

Tube socket fillet joint of liquid ammonia tanks was invalided in service, due to one - side welding structure without groove. Stress computations on tube socket fillet joint of three types are conducted with the ABAQUS code. The calculation results and actual observation are compared. The obtained results show that the stress in the inside wall of cylinder fully welded with groove is the smallest. The stress is the middle for the double - side welded structure without groove and is the biggest for the one ?side welded structure without groove. Calculation results are consistent with the crack observation of a engineering tube socket fillet joint of liquid ammonia tanks. The tube socket fillet joint one - side welded structure without groove should be avoid to be used for important occasions.
