Flexible Technology,Flexible Production and the Value of Flexible Technology
摘要
Abstract
Under the uncertainty of output and input markets, this paper forms a uniform framework to deal with firm' s production behaviors and choices of the level of flexibility of a flexible technology and gives the value function of the flexible technology and the properties of the function.The results show that the value of flexible production is not lower than that of non-flexible production given the technological flexibility and the value of a flexible technology does not decrease with an increase in its flexibility given production behavior.Furthermore, under certain conditions, the value of flexible production is higher than that of non-flexible production and the value of a flexible technology increases with an increase in its flexibility.关键词
