Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To compare the effect of decoction vessel on the quality of Yinqiaosan decoction, such as electronic redware-drug pot, electronic ceramic-drug pot and induction-cooker stainless-steel utensils. METHODS: Yinqiaosan was decocted by electronic redware-drug pot, electronic ceramic-drug pot and induction-cooker stainless-steel utensils respectively. The field of extracts and the content of chlorogenic acids in different decoction containers were measured 20 min after boiling. RESULTS: The content of chlorogenic acids and the field of extract decocted by electronic redware-drug pot and electronic ceramic-drug pot were significantly different from that decocted by induction-cooker stainless-steel utendils. But there was no significant difference in the field of extract between the first two decoction devices. While there was significant difference in the content of chlorogenic acids. CONCLUSION: The electronic ceramic-drug pot is optimal for decoction.
