摘要
Abstract
Objective To explore the mechanism of Bushen Migu Tablets, a traditional Chinese medicine for supplementing kidney to tonify the bone, in treating osteoporosis. Methods Ten-month-old Wistar rats were selected to induce osteoporosis by ovariectomy. One month later, the model rats with osteoporosis were treated with Bushen Migu Tablets. Four and eight weeks after treatment, respectively, the tibias from all groups were removed for measuring their bending strength, stiffness coefficient, elastic modulus,maximum deflection, and tough factor. Results Four weeks after treatment, compared with those of the model group and western medicine treated group, the bending strength and elastic modulus were significantly increased in Bushen Migu Tablets treated group (P＜0. 05). Conclusion Bushen Migu Tablets can restore the normal balance of bone metabolism of rats with osteoporosis caused by ovariectomy.关键词
