Abstract
Objective To observe the curative effect of fluorouracil sustained -release implants on malignant ascites and in improving patient's quality of life. Methods Fourty - eight patients with malignant ascites were enrolled into the study. Evaluate the remission rate and toxicity, and the changes of appetite, body weight, pain, Karnofsky performance score (KPS) were observed during the treatment. Results The total remission rate was 54. 16％. The difference in appetite, pain, weight and KPS was statistically significant compared with those before the treatment (P ＜0. 05 ). No obvious toxicity was found in observed patients. Conclusion Fluorouracil sustained- release implants in the treatment with malignant ascites showed better clinical effect, especially for improving the quality of life.关键词
