Abstract
The Fe3Al/Al2O3 composite materials were prepared by normal pressure sintering using Al2O3 as matrix material and self-made submicron Fe3 Al as strengthening phase. The effects of Fe3 Al content, sintering temperature and holding time on mechanical properties of composite materials were investigated. The results show that mechanical properties of composite materials can be improved by means of increasing Fe3 Al content and sintering temperature and prolongation of holding time. When the optimum process parameters ( Fe3Al of 15wt% , forming pressure of 2488MPa, and sintering temperature of 1380℃ ) are provided, which greatly contribute to the improvement of mechanical properties of composite materials, the higher properties (relative density of 93%, Vickers hardness of 9. 3GPa and facture toughness of 7.51MPa · m1/2) are achieved. The improvement of mechanical properties of the composites is strongly influenced by sintering temperature.关键词
