摘要
Abstract
Targeting major problems in China's urbanization process, the paper discusses the prospect of urbanization in China as well as the roles of urban planning.It is argued that owning to limited institutional changes, urbanization will largely follow old trend except that locality differentiation will become more conspicuous.An inflexion point of the urbanization process may not take place spontaneously;however, the collapse of the eco-system may prompt the system to take another path. Urban planning, as a major policy means for the state to manage the urbanization process, needs to respect the internal logics of urbanization while at the same time try to resolve the problems and negative externalities in urban development, including preventing the collapse of the eco-system. Therapeutic and preventative measures should be combined to make policies more effective.关键词
