摘要

Abstract

The full-scale experimental research on the bending rigidity and bearing capacity of the crisscross joints were performed in combination with the practical demands of a steel tubular constructional project. In this project, some steel plates were welded to the joints. In order to study the influence of the steel plates on the rigidity and capacity of the joints, the experiment comprised two groups. One group of specimens welded steel tubes together directly. The other group of specimens had steel plates welded to one side of the joints.The test procedure and the main results were presented. The failure mode of the joints and the function of the stiffening steel plates were discussed. The test results showed that both the bending rigidity and bearing capacity of the crisscross joints were strong. Besides, the steel plates changed the failure mode and developed the bending rigidity and bearing capacity of the crisscross joints.
