摘要

Abstract

A ramp-street junction is a transfer station for the traffic flow between freeway and street, which always causes traffic backup. Appropriate traffic safety improvement method for the ramp-street junction is significant for the improvement of freeway performance and its capacity. Based on the latest researches, a recommended traffic safety improvement framework was established which included the junction influencing area,traffic safety diagnosis, safety problem analysis, traffic safety improvement counter-measures, traffic safety improvement evaluation and the determination of safety improvement plan. The framework was applied to the planning project of a ramp-street junction between Fen-jun freeway and 340 provincial highway in Shanxi province. The example proved that the presented method was practicable and applicable in the safety improvement of the ramp-street junction.
