Health Information Services and the Education of Health Information Literacy in the Digital Knowledge Age- the New Mission for Medical Librarians
摘要
Abstract
Based on health literacy and health information literacy content, we explored the effective measures of the public health information literacy education and the provision of health information services supplied for medical staffs and the public by American and British medical librarians.The results showed that medical librarians mainly play the following roles: 1) carry out health information literacy training for medical personnels, provide quality information resources and develop new medical information resources.2) promote the exchange and communication between the medical staffs and non-professionals (including patients and the public); develop new- technologies to promote public awareness of health information resources; 3) help the Govemment develop positive health policies and promote public health literacy level.关键词
