Computing study on holistic aerodynamics of chaff cloud covering various flow regimes

Abstract
The statistical simulation technique in random sample for the numerous chaffs and chaff- cloud released by the aerocraft is founded on the theory of stochastic dynamics and statistical diffusive sampling. Based on the aerodynamic theory and computing technique established in the recent years, the evaluating algorithm for the aerodynamic characteristic of chaff bodies with the high long and slender ratio has been developed for various altitudes, flying angles and Mach numbers from rarefied free - molecular flow to continuum flow regimes. The numerical method of trajectory flying mechanics is studied and applied to calculate the space situation and velocity of the flying chaff groups at any time. The holistic performance of the chaff cloud is analyzed and studied in mathematical modeling and simulation by developing the weighted technique of stochastic dynamics and statistical distribution theory. As a result, the statistical simulating method on the holistic aerodynamics and covering range of chaff cloud from various flow regimes has been founded. The holistic flying characteristic of the numerous chaffs and chaff clouds released by aerocraft is computed and analyzed as the primary application of the present method. The present simulating results are tallied with the theoretical forecast and experiment testing, which displays the engineering practicality and reliability of the present method in simulating the flying contrail, overcast range and holistic aerodynamics of the chaff cloud including space position, number density, flying gesture and velocity across the atmosphere inside and outside.关键词
