Study on the mechanism of DMDHEU resin etherization

Abstract
Mechanism of etheriNing DMDHEU resin with diethylene glycol was investigated.The influences of the amount of diethylene glycol and phthalic anhydride, the etherifying temperature, the reactive time and pH value on the resin performance were discussed.The optimized process of etherifying DMDHEU resin was determined by testing and analyzing the hydroxymethyl contents of the synthesized resin, the free formaldehyde contents, released formaldehyde amount from finished fabric, the wrinkle recovery angle and tearing strength retention value.The optimal process of etherifying DMDHEU resin was: n(diethylene glycol):n( formaldehyde)=0.52:1,the amount of the phthalic anhydride / diethylene glycol was 1.0%, the reaction temperature was 68~70 ℃, the etheritying time was 4 h and pH value was 3.0~3.4.The free formaldehyde of etherified resin was lower than 0.3%.The released formaldehyde amount of finished fabric was 33.48 mg/kg.Dimensional change after washing in warp and weft were -0.8% and -0.7%, respectively, which met excellent quality standard.关键词
