摘要

Abstract

3-dimensional finite element simulations were performed on the cutting process of multi-layer coating tools using DE FORM-3 D software. Parameters including cutting temperature, cutting force and tool stress were obtained and compared with the results of corresponding cutting experiments. The simulating results of cutting temperature and force are consistent with the experiment results, and the damage of the coating layers could be explained by the results of tool stress. It is shown that this simulation method could be used effectively in the research on the invalidation of multi-layer coating tools.
