Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical effect of catgut embedding therapy on insomnia by applying to Shu-Mu points jointly. Methods Sixty patients with insomnia were randomly allocated to a treatment group (catgut embedding group) and a control group (acupuncture group). Results The total effective rate was 93.3％ in the treatnent group versus 76.7％ in the control group, with a significant difference (P＜0.05). The comparison of Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) showed a better result in the treatment group than in the control group. Conclusion Catgut embedding therapy applied to combined Shu-Mu points is better than conventional acupuncture in treating insomnia, in comparison of the effective rate and the improvement of PSQI.关键词
