Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship of KAI - 1 and nm23 - H1 expressions to the invasion and metastasis of colorectal carcinoma, to find their role in the invasion and metastasis. Methods The mRNA and protein levels of KAI - 1 and nm23 - H1 were determined by fluorescent real - time quantitative PCR and immunohistochemical methods in 45 colorectal carcinoma specimens. Results The mRNA and protein expressions of KAI - 1 and nm23 - H1 were significantly lower in tumor tissues than in surgical margin area ( P ＜ 0. 01 ) . Expressions of KAI - 1 and nm23 - H1 were obviously related to lymph node metastasis, depth of invasion and Dukes staging ( P ＜ 0. 01 ) . KAI - 1 mRNA expression was positively correlated with nm23 -H1 in colorectal carcinoma tissues ( rs =0. 583 and 0. 327 , P ＜0. 05 ) . Conclusion Low expressions of KAI - 1 and nm23 -H1 are closely associated with invasion and metastasis of colorectal carcinoma. Combined detection of the two genes may be helpful in predicting the tumor progress and guiding the clinical therapy of colorectal carcmoma.关键词
