Abstract
Because of the shortcoming that the peak-toaverage power ratio (PAPR) based on scaled selective mapping (SLM) is larger than that of conventional SLM, an improved scheme is proposed. In the scheme, some of the input signals are scaled to low amplitudes by new decision circle to reduce PAPR of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) in power line communications (PLC). Based on ensuring the performance of bit error rate (BER) in PLC channels, the analysis and simulation results show that the modified scheme can reduce much more PAPR compared with the original scaled SLM scheme. The proposed scheme is simple, and the transmission efficiency is high. It is also convenient to be combined with other techniques in PLC and valuable to be applied.关键词
