摘要
Abstract
Huntington's disease (HD) is an autosomal dominant genetic disease characterized by dance-like involuntary movements and progressive cognitive impairment. Excitatory toxicity is recognized as one of the mechanisms of HD pathogenesis. Quinolinic acid (QA) is an excitotoxic drug, which can lead to brain dysfunction by killing the related neurons in the brain, and being a further mimic of changes in HD. This article presents the merits and drawbacks of animal HD models induced by QA as well as the current application of the models in studies of drugs and treatment of this disease.关键词
