摘要

Abstract

Friction and wear properties of unsaturated polyester resin (UPR) composites filled with nano-SiO2, sliding against 45 carbon steel under dry friction condition were studied, and the worn mechanism of the UPR composites were discussed The results show that the wear resistance of composites which UPR is changed by different ratios of modified nano-SiO2 particles has been greatly improved. When the mass percentage of nano-SiO2 is 0.5 %, it shows the best wear-resistance. The abrasion reduced from 48.5mg (pure UPR) to 20. 5mg. The friction of UPR composites that is modified has been improved to some extent. The wear mechanism of pure UPR was mainly characterized by adhesive wear, while the wear mechanism of UPR composites modified by nano-SiO2 particles is mainly characterized by adhesive wear and abrasive wear in different ways.
