Abstract
Objective: Exploring the method for defining the anterior border of naso- and oropharyngeal airway during 3-dimensional (3-D) reconstruction of the pharyngeal airway. Method: After importing the Dicom data of 20 patients' CT-scans into a medical 3-D reconstruction software (Surgicase 5.0), by indicating and comparing the corresponding anatomical structures between 2-dimensional (2-D) and 3-D images, the anterior border of naso- and oropharyngeal airway were explicitly defined. Meanwhile, the volume and surface area could be automatically computed. And the consistency test was performed by paired-t test. Result: All pharyngeal airways were well reconstructed with the anterior borders of naso- and oropharyngeal airway well delineated. No statistical difference of the volume and surface area of the pharyngeal airway was found between the intra- and inter-examinations (P ＜=0.05). Conclusion: A method for defining the anterior borders of haso- and oropharyngeal airway was established with a good reliability. By that, a "2-step" method for reconstruction of pharyngeal airway was also established.关键词
