摘要

Abstract

Several commonly used methods of spot weld simulation were summarized and a new solid spot weld elements model was proposed, according to the efficiency and simulation accuracy of the spot weld elements in vehicle crash model. Spot weld elements using solid element assemblies and beam elements were built in detail and their accuracy was systematically compared, based on the crash tests of thin-walled rail. And the most accurate results were gained by using HEX8 elements. The whole car simulation analysis of crashworthiness using spot weld failure parameters obtained by specimen test and the new HEX 8 elements model gave more accurate results. The vehicle tests demonstrated that this solid elements assemblies spot weld model has higher precision and stronger project practicability.
