摘要

Abstract

Because of the discrete performance of the ultra-capacitor, when composed of multiple cells in a group,the charge/discharge process would lead to over-charging or over-discharging phenomenon, and this would seriously endanger the ultra-capacitors. In this paper, compared with several current equalization circuits, a new charge equalization system was proposed. The system with FPGA as the check and control unit, effectively controlled the charge and discharge process, so it could prevent the ultra-capacitor cell from over-charging and over-discharging, enhance the cycle life of the ultra-capacitors, and reduce unnecessary energy consumption.
