摘要

Abstract

The simulation of low pressure die casting process of a magnesium alloy wheel hub was practiced. Using professional casting software, the temperature field during filling and solidification process, and then the potential defects were predicted and previewed. Based on analysis, it was found that there would be shrinkage defects at the center of wheel hub. And this shrinkage can not be eliminated by reducing the pouring velocity. But through setting cooling pipe system in the top mold alone is a valid way to enhance the cooling capacity at the areas near the center. It adjusted the cooling order of the whole wheel and eliminated the shrinkage in the center of wheel obviously.
