Effects of intensive lipid-lowering therapy on the changes of serum pregnancy-associated plasma protein A, et al.levels in patients with acute cerebral infarction

Abstract
Objectives To observe the effects of intensive lipid-lowering therapy with atorvastatin on serum pregnancy-associated plasma protein A (PAPP-A), serum amyloid A protein (SAA) and soluble CD40 ligand (sCD40L) in patients with acute cerebral infarction and to investigate its inhibitory effect of inflammatory response after cerebral infarction and the effect on blood lipids. Methods One hundred sixty patients with acute cerebral infarction were divided into stable carotid plaque (n =80) and unstable carotid plaques ( n = 80) groups according to the results of carotid ultrasound examination. Then they were randomly redivided into conventional treatment group (n =80, taking atorvastatin 10 mg/d) and intensive treatment group (n = 80, taking atorvastatin 40 mg/d); the changes of blood lipid, serum PAPP-A, SAA and sCD40L levels were compared before and after treatment (2 and 4 weeks). Results There were no significantly differences in blood lipids, serum PAPP-A, SAA and sCD40L levels before treatment between the 2 groups ( all P ＞ 0.05 ). The serum LDL-C, TG and TC levels in the intensive treatment group after treatment were lower than those in the conventional treatment group ( P ＜ 0.01 ); the serum PAPP-A, SAA and sCD40L levels in the intensive treatment group were lower than those in the conventional treatment group. The differences were statistically significant ( P ＜ 0.01 ). Conclusion Intensive lipid-lowering therapy is a safe and effective treatment. It quickly lowers the blood lipids and meets the standards, rapidly lowers serum inflammatory factor level in patients with cerebral infarction, and has a stronger anti-inflammatory effect.关键词
