Abstract

Objective To discuss the therapeutic effects of perioperative prophylactic use of antibiotics in obstetric and gynecological diseases. Methods 735 patients were divided into caesarean section group, salpingectomy for ectopic pregnancy group and uterectomy group, and their data were retrospectively studied. The three groups were divided into experimental groups and control groups according to treatment methods. 1.5g cefuroxime sodium was given before and after operation in experimental groups, while it was given only after operation in control groups. They were given twice a day and adjusted according to patients' condition. Results The highest temperatures of three experimental groups were significantly lower than those of three control groups respectively ( t was 1. 67, 2. 13 and 1. 84respectively, all P < 0.05 ), and the pyretolysis time in experimental groups was remarkably reduced compared with that in control groups ( t was 1.79, 1.90 and 2.24 respectively, all P <0.05 ). The infection rate of incisional wound in experimental groups was greatly lower than that in control groups (X2 was 3.97, 6.24 and 6.70 respectively, all P < 0.05 ). The differences were significant. Conclusion Compared with application of cefuroxime sodium only after operation, perioperative proper use of antibiotics is more effective in reducing risk of postoperative infection of obstetric and gynecological diseases.
