Influence of sense of Disease Uncertainty on Life Quality in Patients with Epithelial Ovarian Cancer

Abstract
Objective To investigate the assessment of sense of disease uncertainty in patients with epithelial ovarian cancer, and to discuss the influences of disease uncertainty on life quality. Methods 59 hospitalized patients with epithelial ovarian cancer were chosen as observation group, and 45 non- epithelial ovarian cancer patients were chosen as control group at the same time. The patients in the two groups received the assessment of Missals MUIS and WHO-QOL-BREF respectively within 1 week after hospitalization and 1 d before being discharged from hospital. Using the second assessment data as a judgment and 62. 5 of the disease uncertainty score as a dividng line, the observation group was divided into high-score group and low-score group to assess life quality. Results 29 patients (49. 15％ ) and 17 (28.81％) in the observation group were higher than 62.5 in two assessments of the disease uncertainty, while 8 (17.78％) and 5 (11.11％) were respectively in the control group, and there were significant differences between the two groups (P ＜0.01). All dimension scores and total score in the two assessments of the disease uncertainty in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were significant (P ＜0.05, P ＜0.01 ). The dimension scores and the total score in the second assessment of the disease uncertainty in the two groups were lower than those at the first time, and the differences were significant (P ＜0.05, P＜0. 01). The four-field scores, total life scores and health scores in the high-score group were obviously lower than those in the low-score group, and the differences were significant (P ＜0.05, P ＜0.01 ). Conclusion The health education should be enhanced in patients during inifial treatment of epithelial ovarian cancer, knowledge and therapy information about the disease in addition to active coroperaion may reduce the disease uncertainty and improve life quality.关键词
