Abstract
Objective:To investigate the diagnostic and endovascular therapeutic methods of cavernous sinus dural arteriovenous fistula (CSDAVF). Methods: Fifteen CSDAVF cases were confirmed with whole cerebral angiography. The patients were treated by compression of the common carotid artery or just follow-up in one case, transvenous embolization in nine cases,transarterial embolization in three cases respectively. Transvenous and transarterial embolizations were combined in two cases. Results:Immediate complete obliteration of the fistula was achieved in 2 out of 3,and partial. Occlusion of the fistula was achieved in one case by transarterial embolization. Immediate complete obliteration of the fistula was achieved in all the cases treated by transvenous embolization. Clinical cure or alleviation was achieved in one case treated by compression of the common carotid artery. Conclusion:Being less invasive,safer and more effective,endovascular embolization is an ideal method for treatment of CSDAVF.关键词
