Abstract

In the experimental measurement of oil PVT parameters , the temperature for gas/oil separation and volumetric measurement of stock tank oil is set at 20℃ according to China petroleum industry standards ( CPIS ). But at this temperature, high pour point oil has been solidified. Therefore parameters such as dissolved gas/oil ratio and volume factor can not be calculated directly. This paper proposes a technical idea that property parameter of high pour point crude can be measured at higher tempe rature, and provides analysis on the necessity and importance of high-temperature material parameters. Test temperature of 50 ℃ is advised, and a set of high temperature parameters are presented. This paper suggests that high temperature parameters should be used for high pour point crude and heavy crudeoil, in order to increase the measuremental accuracy of property parameters. It is also suggested that a CPIS for high temperature property parameters should be established to popularize its application in oilfields.
