摘要

Abstract

The investigation was carried out to study the effect of tungsten addition (0-1.460%) on the microstructure and impact toughness of the high manganese steel by metallographic microscope, scanning electron microscopy, electronic probe and mechanical properties tests. The results indicate that with the increase of W content, the grain size of high manganese steel decreased, and the matrix hardness of high manganese steel increased. A small amount of carbides which contained a lot of W was precipitated on the matrix of high manganese steel; the impact toughness of high manganese steel first increased, then decreased, and reach the maximum 329.9 J/cm2 when W content was 0.912%, which increased by 49% compared with that of the high manganese steel without W. This is contributed to the combined action of solid solution strengthening, grain refinement strengthening and precipitation of carbides.
