摘要

Abstract

The authors made bamboo-fiber based composites with bamboo obtained from a factory.The composites had densities between 0. 85 to 1.20 g/cm3 using cold-pressing and hot-pressing methods. The major mechanical and physical properties of these composites were tested. The results showed that both cold-pressing and hot-pressing methods produced composites with high physical and mechanical performance. The composites produced by cold-pressing had better water resistance than those produced by hot pressing. However, the composites produced by hot-pressing had higher bending and shear strengths.
