Abstract
Objective To analyze the clinical features of henign prostate hyperplasia ( BPH ) complicated by chronic prostatitis ( CP ) . Methods A total of 92 BPH patients were divided into simple group ( 24 cases ) and complicated group ( 68 cases), depending on whether the complicated chronic prostatitis existed. Differences of age, size of prostate, serum prostate specific antigen ( PSA ) , prostate specific antigen density ( PSAD ) , International Prostate Symptom Score ( IPSS ) , and Quality of Life Sale ( QOLS ) were analyzed between simple BPH cases and BPH cases complicated with prostatitis. Results Significant differences existed in age , prostate size, PSA levels PSAD levels , IPSS, and QOL between simple group and complicated group ( P＜0.05 ) . Conclusion BPH patients tend to develop complicated CP, which might worsen the lower urinary tract conditions. Hyperplastic prostate , on the other hand, is more susceptible to infections.关键词
