Abstract

Harmony Search (HS) is a heuristic optimization method. For the purpose of avoiding the disadvantage of improved harmony search (IHS) algorithm, a new adaptive harmony search algorithm is presented. The algorithm utilizes chaos technique initializing population, adaptive harmony probability, and pitch adjusting frequency and bandwidth to produce new solutions. In each iteration, several solutions are generated so as to makes full use of information of harmony memory. If the algorithm arrives at stagnating state,chaos mutation is adopted in order to increase the diversity solutions. Finally, the proposed algorithm is tested by five benchmark function and compared with HIS, AHSPSO. The test results show the favorable abilities of accuracy and escaping local minimums.
