Expression and clinical significance of matrix metall oproteinase-9 and tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases-1 in adenomyosis

Abstract
Objective : To investigate the expression of matrix metalloproteinase-9 and tissue inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase-1 in adenomyosis in order to study the function and relativity of occurrence. Method : Immunohistochemical two-step method was employed to detect the expression of MMP-9 and TIMP-1 in the adenomyosis. Results:The expression of MMP-9 and TIMP-1 in ectopic endometrium of adenomyosis was higher than that of eutopic endometrium and normal endometrium( P＜0.05 ) . However,the expression of MMP-9 and TIMP-1 in eutopic endometrial tissue of adenomyosis was not higher than that of normal endometrium( P＞0. 05 ) . The expression of MMP-9 and TIMP-1 in ectopic endometrium of adenmoyosis increased when the degree of dysmenorrhea raised. Conclusion : The abnormal expression of MMP-9 and TIMP-1 might be correlared with the occurrence and biological behavior of adenmyosis. Excessive expression of MMP-9 and TIMP-1 in ectopic endometrium of adenomyosis might be related the dysmenorrhea.关键词
