Effects of P38 Signaling Pathway On the Proliferation of Rat Neural Stem Cells

Abstract
Objective To study the effects of P38 signaling pathway on the proliferation of neural stem cells (NSCs) from rat hippocampus. Methods NSCs were cultured in vitro and were divided into control and experimental groups. The control group was cultured in the NSCs media while the experimental group was cultured in NSCs media added with P38 inhibitor,SB203580. The expression of P38 and phosphorylated P38 was detected by Western blot and the proliferation of NSCs was evaluated by MTT. Results Compared with the control group,the expression of phosphorylated P38 in NSCs was significantly lower. Gradual increase of the NSC spheres was observed in the experimental group, and MTT showed that proliferation speed of NSCs was significantly faster in the experimental group (P < 0.05 ). Conclusion The proliferation of neural stem cells significantly increases when P38 signal transduction pathway is inhibited.关键词
