Abstract
Objective To study the expression of TMPRSS4 and E-cadherin in human pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma and their correlation with biological behaviors of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.Methods Western blot was used to detect the expressions of TMPRSS4 and E-cadherin protein in 16 samples of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma tissues and adjacent normal pancreatic tissues.The expression of TMPRSS4 and E-cadherin protein in 54 samples of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma tissues and 4 samples of normal pancreatic tissues were detected with the application of immunohistochemistry.Results The expression of TMPRSS4 protein in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma tissues was significantly higher than that of the adjacent normal pancreatic tissues.The expression of the E-cadherin in adjacent normal pancreatic tissues was significantly higher than that of cancer tissues (P ＜ 0.01 ).There was significant correlation between the expression of TMPRSS4,loss of E-cadherin protein and the degree of differentiation,lymph node metastasis and clinical staging (P ＜ 0.05 ).Spearman analysis showed that there existed negative correlation between TMPRSS4 and E-cadherin (r =-0.419,P =0.002).Conclusion The abnormal expression of TMPRSS4 and E-cadherin are closely correlated with the invasion and metastasis of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.Combined detection for these two proteins may be useful in predicting the malignancy degree of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.关键词
