摘要

Abstract

Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) is a new type of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) which is difficult to degrade biologically. The present paper reviews the status of PFOS pollution in environment (water and sediment), its impact on animals and human beings, and its level of exposure in China. In order to explore the possibilities of renovating treatment technology for PFOS and minimize the impact of PFOS on the environment, future studies should be focused on estimating the toxicity sensitive index and elucidation of PFOS impact on the environment, improvement of experimental methods and testing equipments, investigation of PFOS pollution situation across China, spatial and temporal distribution of PFOS, its movement, accumulation and transformation in environment (mainly air-water-soil-bottom sediment), establishment of a mathematical model for spatial and temporal distribution of PFOS using numerical simulation method, etc.
