摘要

Abstract

Purpose To predigest the process of biomedical statistics and assist in experimental study , we developed a simple and convenient computer-programmed software. Methods The software for biological and medical calculator ( BioMedCalc ) is designed and programmed. BioMedCalc included 5 data statistic functions , which were average and standard difference calculations, Chi-square (X2 ) and two-sample t tests, Linear correlation and regression and spearman ' s rank correlation. The BioMedCalc also included 6 experimentassistant functions, PCR calculator for calculating the regent scale in PCR experiments, Oligo calculator for counting the sequence length, number of base-pair, content of GC and the quantity of distilled water to make normal final concentration, the centrifugation calculator used for conversing the rotation speed to relative centrifugal force, the solution matcher of calculating the quantity of regent, the foreign exchanger for the exchange between different moneys, and even the clock and timer used for exactly timing and alarming with sound report. Results The result of checking calculation indicated that all the statistic functions were identical to SPSS software and manual calculation, and more simple and convenient. All the experiment-assistant functions were also identical to manual calculation. Conclusions Software BioMedCalc is an easy and convenient biomedical statistic and experiment-assistant software, especially suitable for pathologic studies.
