Abstract
Objective To investigate the curative effect of anterior fixation for type Ⅱ odontoid fractures with compressive cannulated screw.Methods 24 patients presented with acute traumatic type Ⅱ odontoid fractures were treated by anterior odontoid compressive cannulated screw fixation with help of C-arm X-ray machine.Results All the cases were followed up range from 12 to 48 months with an average of ( 24 ± 12 ) months.Radiographic bone fusion were got in all patients.No complications related to the surgical approach or hardware failure were identified and no signifirant limitation of cervical motion was found at lost followup.Conclusions Anterior fixation with compressive cannulated screw for type Ⅱ odontoid fractures is associated with a relatively low complication rate and a high fusion rate in this study, offering stable fixation and reserving all normal cervical motion.It is an effective treatment method for acute type Ⅱ odontoid fractures.关键词
