Effect of Comprehensive Intervention of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter in Oncology Patients

Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of comprehensive intervention of peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) in adult oncology patients. Methods Observation group involved 107 patients receiving nurse further education, X-ray guided reposition,early use of nucopolysaccharide polysulfate cream, maintenance of maximum sterile barrier precaution, etc. While control group included 129 patients receiving mere routine nursing care. The abnormal conditions of PICC were compared between two groups.Results The overall abnormal conditions rate in observation group was lower than that in control group (11.2％ vs 40.3％, X2=25.05,P＜0.01). The incidence rates of phlebitis, occlusion and malposition differed significantly between two groups (P＜0.01). Conclusion Comprehensive intervention could reduce the abnormal conditions of PICC in adult oncology patients.关键词
