Abstract
BACKGROUND: Mesenchymal stem cells are the hotspot in regenerative medicine research, and traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) can improve the efficacy of mesenchymal stem cells therapy.OBJECTIVE: To review the correlation between TCM and stem cells, and to further explore their development trend. METHODS: A computer retrieve of CNKI and PubMed databases using the key words of which were “traditional Chinese medicine” or “herbal medicine” or “Botanical Drugs” and “mesenchymal stem cells” in Chinese and English was performed. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Totally 35 articles were included. The results showed that many Chinese herbs and compound play a role in improving the proliferation and differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells, which is safe and easy to clinical application. In addition, Chinese herbs have a great potential to survive in mesenchymal stem cells.关键词
